I guess it would seem that way to someone that has passed that point for awhile,but i get your Point.
It is weird but compared to other Series there is much more of a Connection from my side to the Characters actually,feels-wise i mean. Like i legit felt sad at seeing Jonathan pass away,he was a good protagonist for the first Part though. Overall i think Jojo's Part 1 had good animation,nice soundtrack and a fair share of over the top stuff too,hard to dislike.

I didn't know you were a Jojo-Fan,now i just have to catch up quickly. Starting Part 2 tomorrow actually.

Oh yeah, I felt similar when I watched it. It is really over the top and goofy but is capable of making a U-turn into feels territory quite quickly.
I think it feels like that compared to the other parts to me. You in for a treat if you enjoy part 1 that much.

Got bored? Had some laughs but it's a slog, part 3; you really think it's that good that no one would stop? So I dropped just after the halfway point.

The main reason I'll pick it up again, if I do, is this:

Jojo's definitely is not a series everyone is gonna be able to hang with. It is all fights/poses XD. First half of part 3 is a slog like Brandish said too.

I get a kick out of the poses, the macho, androgynous designs (mostly from those I've seen of future parts), music references... there's a lot to love there.

This is very much style over substance so yea you have to like that to hang with it. In general, I don't pick a side with style or substance, even if the latter is longer lasting, on first view style holds up well. So I don't have a problem here.

I'm not particularly with Stands, yet. I preferred Hamon power lol. There are some enjoyable Jojo fights, what kills it is the amount of them in part 3. Every episode or two we'll come across a stand user.. even though they're literally traveling to a goal it feels like we're not going anywhere. Idk, I was getting a headache from that. I have contemplated skipping straight to Jotaro vs Dio, so then I can start Kira's part. If part 5 is a hit anime, then I'll probably feel more pressure to finish part 3.
