Gotta wait for further clarifications now. I feel like that'll be sooon.

Is it hatsu principles? Or fine detailed Nen type principles..

Manipulation, Emission, Conjuration (Hotel Rafflesia)
I know what Nen types are being used, but zero idea on what it does.

Hatsu is The Cup test, & your technique; What you mentally create using the principles, subcategories of the Nen types to make an ability, suited to your class, personality & style

[Control Type]--> Manipulation, Emission, Enhancement
Control living(or dead)beings. Enhance yourself or/and the target

The best way to understand this is to look at users as biased to certain Hatsu techniques, but the subcategories are not always tied into those and you can achieve that in different ways.

What I find interesting is that this kind of typing is introduced right now.

As in, before we had the understanding of Nen from the lens of martial artists, so words like Ryu, Zetsu and so on were taught with an intuitive understanding of the body, kind of like with Chi.

But now, as we move away from Martial arts battles towards the perspective of politicians and other kinds of establishment figures (the world of CEOs and scientists), our understanding of Nen becomes more analytical as if it was science.

Everything is neatly typed with exact subtypes. What was before thought as some kind of mythical exception of the rule (nen after death) is something some people can use at will and regularly (camilla).
What was before a privilege of the talented few and done by people dedicating their life to the craft now is something people learn as a means to an end.

To formulate it more radically: Nen before was a triumph of one's individuality. Something that represents who you are with all your quirks. That is still somewhat true, but the typing and the abundance of nenusers we see right now makes a manipulator like Illumi less into 'oh wow that guy can use needles to control people!' and more into 'a manipulator of th coercive type'.

This kind of typing only makes sense exactly because we see so many nenusers right now. The amount of Hatus we saw before this current arc is actually shockingly low for 340 chapters when you think about it.
