wow, hey, its been forever since i checked this thread, looking at my old powers was really nostalgic
also, the mangaka for my hero acadamy copied a power i made back in 2012!!! im sueing!

Hatsu: Materialization
Name: you are what you eat
deatails: If you consume a food, you can materialize body parts that have abilities that the animal that was cooked to make the dish had, or non-meat, i guess veggies could give u photosynthetic appendages for extra energy. You can only materialize these things on you as long as the food is in your system (once u poop, its gone, lol)
The tastier/more extravegant/rare the dish, the more powerful the materialized appendage.
Example: eating boiled lobster, you can material a big lobster claw over your arm and it is semi strong, or you can do a carapace and it will be pretty good
however, eating a fancy lobster dish with spices and other fancy shit, you can material a claw and it will be super powerful, or its carapace and it will be really strong

I imagine the character being a gourmet hunter, and would eat a lot

all jokes aside, my new hatsu:
Hatsu: Emission/specialization
name: future sight
details: the user emits his sense of sight to a point in time into the future. How this works is basically, wherever the users body/eyes are represent the location in the future where the sight will be emitted, like if you are walking in a straight line, and you emit 5 seconds into the future, you will see yourself walking 5 seconds ahead of you, if you were to look down with your head you wouldnt see anything as it's just your sense of sight being emitted into the future. The condition you make is that you are unable to cancel the nen, the nen ends when the "time is caught up" aka when the same amount of time you went into the future has elapsed. Meaning, for looking 5 seconds into the future, you just have to wait 5 seconds and then your sight returns to the present, but looking a day into the future mean youre stuck with the future sight for a day. While active, if you make actions that change the future, say you stop walking, your vision in the 5 seconds ahead will phase into whatever new timeline you created, so from your visions point of view, your future self that's steps ahead of you will phase away and you will be where your vision is. Im probably describing this in a complicated way, but anything involving time is inherently complicated.
Anyways, i would like for hearing and smell to also be able to be emitted similarly. I feel like this would be a cool way to spend a sunday preparing for some big event on a monday and when monday happens youll have seen what is meant to happen and can improve upon it how you wish

Name: EXP Memory Card (Materialization)

Description:

1.
I am able to partition my learning experiences into fragments and store them
in my nen-made memory cards.

2. Partitioned experience can never return to my main self.
However, the partitioned experience can be transferred among the memory cards.

3. I can only access the learning experience in the memory card if I insert it into my chest.
Only one memory card can be inserted.

4. Experience in the card is always fresh and never become “stale”.

5. When a memory card is inserted, my learning ability is tripled.
During this period, everything I learn will go into the memory card, instead of my main self.

Reasons:

I am a person who loves learning new things. My ultimate goal of life is to never stop thinking and learning new knowledges.
I constantly think about questions for myself to answer, always wonder about things, which I enjoy a lot.

However, I always have one challenge: Whenever I learn something new, something I learned in the past will slowly dissipate from my memory.
The learning experience will become stale and dull, and I have to revisit again to regain my freshest memory. I always hope I can remember as clearly as I first learned it.

When thinking about what hatsu I’m going to get, I can never decide which I want.
This is because I always sprout new ideas through existing ideas.
I can never feel ready to pick the exact hatsu I thought of myself.
So instead of rushing it out, why not I just have a hatsu that can deal with this situation.

I remember reading something about no one can have two hatsus (with some exception).
This is because it is just the natural limit of human memory can do.
When you start to get the feel of a new learned hatsu, you will start to lose the feel of your other hatsu.
With this hatsu, it will satisfy my every need, while open up a never-ending learning adventure for me.

Interesting skill! Also, not entirely sure about the 'no 2 hatsu' statement.

Hisoka has two moderately unrelated abilities, so does Razor. I think the human memory can't build on too much sentiment? Like, if you find out you're an emitter, the crux is probably that a 100% rational ability that while useful doesn't fit your identity doesn't work out

Great ability @MrBird , I could definitely use that right now ^^

It could be also great if you included that other people can also use the memory cards and access the knowledge in them, but at a certain cost that they would have to pay (for instance a certain amount of their aura, or temporarily forgetting one of their skill, etc...).

Also I would like to comment that human nen users can in principle learn multiple Hatsus; for instance when the abilities are not so complex and/or are highly compatible with the user, like in Hisoka's case.

Does it allow you to replicate perfectly what you learn? Learning things from an encyclopedia is different from learning a dance choreography for example, or a cooking recipe.

You also said that you insert the cards in your chest. It means that you are not entirely human? You turned yourself into a Human-Slot person?

You can have two Hatsu, but there is a limit you can't overcome. And of course they should fit your talents.

Yes it just replicate what I have learned, according to my personal affinity.
For example, I need to spend much less time on math, science, etc, but way more time on language, dance, etc
The whole point of my ability is to prevent myself from "losing touch" to what I have learned, so everything will always be fresh.

I actually think it makes sense to insert through chest, because I can't think of anywhere else to insert.
When I insert it into my chest, it will disappear, and leave a symbol like you eject a disc (triangle and a line underneath)

I'm an enhancer and my hatsu is part enh-trans-emi-manipulation-conj.my hatsu is called 'soldier' the ability is made for combat or assasination,the most important rule that mustn't be discarded is task must achieved even to the cost of my own life.'soldier' is a single being spread into tiny particle all around the human body,it can change size and shape and change my aura to destroy a threat only one day at a time,to avoid leaving repeating the provess once soldier think the host is no longer a threat he work with immune system to perform a treatement that turn automatic if introduced another time,but i have to sacrifice a fay of zetsu once i choose to continue the process or just elminate the threat.since my soldier can travel anywhere it can reach difficult t tumour ,destroy blood clothes or in case of bacteria it grow in size shut the infected area ,if my knowledge can provide a treatement it will enact on it immediately if not it will use methods of trial and error while maintaining quarantine so i can be living with a deasease for years but only regenerating faster of course it comes with the cost of exhaustion and vulnerabilite.in case of toxin it will produce only one cure at time for a time.in combat once i sustain enough damage and number of soldier rise beyond certain levels,i can choose to push the button and turn soldier to their original number the soldier will turn hostile on one another and produce a weapon to kill thesemlves ,creating a highly destructive and inffectous disease every battle to prevent creation of a cure,siting for thirty seconds within 5 meter of the target will garanty infection better yet if we came into contact of course the upside down are the chance of an epidemic and my own life if i don't have enough time rest and let my soldier figure out a cure i will die and any wounds poison or disease yet untreated will take effect.

I like the memory card power, would definitely be super useful in fighting training and irl

I dont like or really get the soldier ability, seems too complex

Looks like togashi stole my power I posted above about future sight, prince tserriednich has a more powerful version of it

Here's a somewhat boring one.
Hatsu: materialization
name: nen switch
details: a light switch that can be materialized on any vertical wall. Can only be used in a sealed/closed room (similar to indoor fish) and is only active when all people the room know where it is and what it does. When the switch is turned off, all nen is "turned off" (materialized nen is "off" and would reappear when turned on), and all people in the room are forced into zetsu. Anyone is able to turn the switch back on to turn on the nen. If the room becomes unsealed, the switch dissipates and things return to normal. Any nen that somehow would get into the room via teleportation or phasing in would instantly turn off.

Category: Conjuration

Description: I can conjure 4 clones (doppleganger) of myself, each one with a different personality, one at a time. Each one of those clones is caracterized by having a prominent personality trait which is inherited from me (and slightly exagerated), as well as a matching special power. The clones come with their own free will, meaning that I have no direct control over them. Although in general they are loyal and bound to me, I still need to persuade them sometimes when they don't feel like performing certain tasks (think of it like persuading yourself not to procrastinate for example :) ).

Activation and Range: I can make the clones appear or disappear at will. They are always conjured within a 1m radius circle around me, and once they are made they can roam freely with no distance limitation.

Limitations:
  • only one clone can exist at a time.
  • Once a clone is made, I am locked into a Ten state (so no Zetsu, Ren, Gyo etc...).
  • A clone will automatically disappear 20 hours after being made.
  • A clone from each one of the 4 types carries its own weaknesses, see the clones' description below.
  • When the clone disappears, I cannot summon that same clone for 24 hours.
  • Clones cannot be hidden by In.
The four Clones:
  1. Goodie-kun: Extremely kind and honest with everybody, hates hurting people. He is also very proficient in martial arts, and is an enhancer.
  2. Jokaa-san: His main drive in life is being the center of attention, he loves cracking up jokes, partying, and can't resist flirting with women. He can also become invisible (specialist ability), as long as he stays quiet and doesn't make physical contact with a person.
  3. Solitaire-sensei: Needs his personal space and enjoys being alone, preferably in the countryside far away from noisy people. He gets easily annoyed when talking with somebody who isn't to his liking (and he's quite the picky bastard), often ending up walking away mid conversation after a few minutes. Also, he is an Emitter/Manipulator with the ability of bending to his will (hypnotizing) anybody who was actively conversating with him for more than 30 minutes.
  4. Ace-sama: This clone can only be materialized when I enter a specific zen and serene mental state (extremely hard to reach). He is very calm, composed and cool (badass vibe). He has tremendous aura (more or less like Shalnark's auto-pilot mode), and can communicate telepathically with me. However, he can only stay for one hour max.
All clones share my own memories, and get to keep their own memories from the times they were used. Basically, think of the clones as fragments of myself, so obviously if I improve certain aspects of my personality, they will as well. And no, unlike naruto, I don't recover their memories/experiences when they're dematerialized.

We can discuss later scenarios where they can be used and stuff, dooda, Panda-san-sama-chi ?

You can't create water with Conjuration, it's more of a Transmutation technique, like Killua's ability. Conjuration creates an object.

It's a 100% Transmutation technique, it would be impossible to change the taste of the water after this excepted like Killua did to know his affinity. I can only imagine you being able to make sugar water.

The user emit aura on object (living / not) enveloping it with his aura and then the user think a target for receiver that can be a place, a person, or anything exist that in the user's mind as a target/receiver. The aura then will deliver the object into that recipient. If the recipient is already can be seen by the user or within the user's visual field or around the user, it becomes instantaneously. The 'package' can be set to avoid any obstacles to the target or even can change its route midway. But if there is no way for the 'package' to get in, it will hit and break that obstacles to get to the recipient. The user can mark the target to make it accurate and precise.

Mailman: Love Letter [emission]
This ability also allows the user to send and take messages to each other in telepathic manner, by thinking about the message then emitting it in aura sphere and send it into someone the user wants. When the aura hit the target, the target then will know and receives the message. The user can chose to make it live conversation (telepathically) with the target so there are 2 ways conversation. Or use it with 'blank' message, send it to his opponent to see what his thoughts.

Name: Night ruler

Category: Enhancement

Description: During the night, the user can multiply their aura quantity by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10, thus increasing their power accordingly. But then on the next day, his original aura quantity is decreased by following a certain rule (see below). "Night time" starts at sunset and ends at sunrise, while "day time" starts at sunrise and ends at sunset.

Activation and Range: The user can activate this Hatsu anytime during the night.

Limitations:
  • During a single night, the power-up has a time constraint depending on the used multiplier:
    (x2) can be used throughout the whole night.
    (x3) can be used up to 6 hours straight. Cannot be used if the Hatsu was activate for 6 hours or more.
    (x4) can be used up to 4 hours straight. Cannot be used if the Hatsu was activate for 4 hours or more.
    (x5) can be used up to 2 hours straight. Cannot be used if the Hatsu was activate for 2 hours or more.
    (x10) can be used up to 1/2 hour straight. Cannot be used if the Hatsu was activate for 1/2 hour or more.
  • During the day time following the activation of the Hatsu, the aura quantity of the user is divided by the highest multiplier used during the night.
  • Aura consumption is also multiplied when the power-up is active.

I didn't have time to write all the details, but when the ability is activated, both the MOP (all of the aura within the user) and AOP (the amount of aura the user can bring forth with Ken) are multiplied. Hence the limitation of multiplying aura consumption as well is not too bad, as it just means that the time for the user to run out of aura is still the same as usual. So it is not unpractical.

Example: Say the user has 21000 aura units in total (MOP), and can bring forth 2000 aura units with Ken. Let's suppose that in a typical fight, he usually runs out of aura after 1 hour.

Now, by using the multiplyer x10, he would have 210000 MOP, 20000 AOP. Since his aura would be consumed 10 times faster, it would take him 1 hour to run dry (instead of several hours, had his aura consumption remained the same).

Actually, to be more precise, I should also factor in the additional aura consumed by activating and maintaining the Hatsu, so maybe the user would empty his aura reserves a bit earlier than one hour, but all in all, it would still be practical.

Name: Grim reaper

Category: Manipulation/Emission

Description: Uses the life of a nen user to create a very strong cursed aura, which is then used to curse any creature. The victim will weaken gradually until it eventually dies (it might take days or years, depending on numerous conditions). The curse is basically similar to "post mortem nen".

Activation and Range: This requires a specific ritual: The user puts their hands on the person to be sacrificed (who has to be a nen user) while it commits suicide (imagine this happening over weird symbols and all that ritualistic BS). The user, while visualising its target in its mind, can then activate the power by emitting aura which becomes a powerful curse. The cursed aura will then go look for the visualized target, and then will attach itself to it.

Limitations:
  • The sacrifice needs to be a nen user, and needs to willingly sacrifice itself for the user.
  • The user needs to harbor deep grudges for its target, otherwise the curse won't be as strong and thus may never do its job of killing the target.
  • The target needs to be within a 1km radius of where the ritual takes place.

There we go. I feel an ability like this would've been much more credible than the BS that is occuring now (starting from chapter 389) in the story, where post mortem nen has become smthg that you can not only control, but predict the effectiveness of....like wtf...

Still think you need to (re)read 389 with the official translation (unless you already have). They can control post-mortem Nen so well because it's limited to the Have-Nots and the relationship their ancestors had with the royals (and, y'know, because they're literally drinking something connected to the target).

The effectiveness/time knowledge is a valid comment, but Fukataki was the only one who was aware of that, so it's not like every Have-Not can ascertain it.
