Voting Best Villain

Mard Geer is probably the best villain here along with Ultear and Hades.

If only Zeref didn't tarnish his image as a villain in the end.So going with Mard.

I liked Ultear as a Machiavellian character, though she didn't have much impact on me as a villain.

Zeref had a lot of potential. Especially before we saw him on Tenrou (hype > outcome generally). Since then he has been hit and miss.

Naraku was more badass in Inuyasha oh wait Mard is different.

Zeref is a whimy little boy who got owned by his little brother and took his punch. What big brother would let that happen? He may have a lot of magic and tragic past but at the end of the day he doesn't seem like a villain.

Ultear is a classic femme fetale.

Mard Geer Tartaros, no doubt.

Easily one of the most badass demons of Tartaros with a cool personality. His character added a lot of suspense to Tartaros, both as a guild and as an arc. I also liked the style of his leadership and his demon form.

Voted for Mard Geer.

He's one of the few villains who actually held a threat to Fairy Tail. I also liked his character design and clever strategies (such as deceiving his followers with the Book of E.N.D to become the leader of Tartaros when he was in fact a demon like the rest of them).

Not only did he just have a cool personality, but it took a titanic effort to beat him, including a Devil Slayer and a Dragon Slayer in DS. And even that didn't kill him. Got to admit though, not a massive fan of his Etherious form.

Maybe it's because when I first read Mard's name it was spelt Marde and I read it as Merde so I didn't like him. @Bishamonten

I admit he was a threat but I just don't think he is badass. Especially when he was so attached to END he probably does dirty things with that book. If he wasn't like that and his name didn't make me think of diseases I may have liked him.

Zeref is definitely more like an antagonist than a villain but Ultear had some psychological moments that make a good villain.
She manipulated Jellal and used him as bait
She was willing to kill Juvia like she was a fly
She tried to manipulate Gray and was willing to do anything to kill him
She had the council wrapped around her finger
She is really strong

I think she did more of one than Mard. He had more followers but they did more work than he did. Maybe I'm the only one who misread his name as Merde Who else speaks French here @Takuan @strikefreedom

Im going with TOH Jellal of course. The dude was savage in the Tower of Heaven arc, and his schemes were awesome. Plus, looking back right now, he actually killed a character on screen while laughing like a madman lol thats villainy right there

Jellal was Ultear's bitch
Irene was a psychologic mutha fuka with badass magic

So, either Hades or Irene.

Definitely Hades. As far as FT villains goes, which lets be honest are mediocre at best, he stands among the few that I might ever remember for the right reasons.

Irene and Jellal were fair villains. Irene was mistreated (putting it lightly), and Jellal was possessed-turned-good (or back to normal). Even if Hades isn't a great villain, he's better than them imho.

The entire Siegrain = Jellal ploy was awesome, and he's one of the few villains that actually got to kill someone without them getting revived.

Going with Hades. he had a connection to the guild, interesting motives and personality, and a great final fight.

Zeref is my favorite character but I wouldn't say he's as good of a villain as Hades.

Zeref was most definitely a villain. He attempted to kill Makarov, almost killed Natsu, and tried to reset time.
