Re: French : a hard langage [ Part 1, and more i hope ]
Well, I'm not a teacher, and the fact is : French is really horrible to learn XD Be careful...
Je tiens à signaler aux petits malins qui ont posté plus haut qu'il existe encore des français sachant maitriser la grammaire française, ne prennez pas vos cas pour une généralité.
Well, I will tell you the names of some countries in french, it could be useful...
United States of America = (Les) Etats Unis d'Amérique (don't forget that in french that's ALWAYS in the plural...)
Spain = Espagne
Germany = Allemagne
England = Angleterre (well, a lot of frenchies confuse England with Great Britain... But there is also Ireland (Irlande), Scotland (Ecosse) and Wales (Pays de Galles... is that all ?)
Russia = Russie
Austria = Autriche
etc... (i'm too lazy now XD)
Ah, I wanted to tell something... When in english you say
"Thank you !"
"You're welcome !"
We say :
- Merci !
- De rien !
Not the same at all XD Like your "atishoo" for our "atchoum"...
About sounds :
bark ! bark ! --> ouaf ! ouaf ! (even dogs have an accent XD)
cock-a-doodle-do ! --> cocorico ! (I never hard a cockerel (=coq) make a sound like that... cock a doodle doo... XD)
Well, i suppose there is other sounds but I don't know them XD
J'espère qu'au moins je vous aurai amusé, en attendant le retour d'un professeur de français plus doué que moi ^^
