1. Zeref cannot use time magic, cannot regenerate, and has no access to Fairy Heart.
2. Slayer-type Mages who have never shown advanced modes have no access to them.

Zeref wins, high difficulty though. I can see Laxus dominating periods of this fight, but can't see him winning. Zeref can take Natsu with Igneel's power, which I think is better than what Laxus can offer. Still, Laxus would take some beating, it would require a lot of effort from Zeref.

Laxus wins this. His speed should be too much for Zeref. Zeref's best speed feats are keeping up with Natsu but I have Laxus as faster than Natsu

Laxus wins in every aspect. Zeref's magic is deadly, but Laxus is the ultimate tank. The guy beat a Spriggan with disintegrated organs. Zeref is way overrated, and I don't see him keeping pace with Laxus if the best he could do was have a slug--fest with Natsu. Laxus throws city-busters and Zeref got rekt by an attack that didn't even destroy the furniture in the guild.

Laxus could forseeably beat Zeref, as Natsu managed to, and like Gildarts, Laxus has topped Natsu several times throughout the series.

if I say Zeref then I'm reminded of that Natsu one shot he gave him which immediately makes Laxus a fodder.

if I vote Laxus then I remember all that Zeref hype.

It's gotta be Zeref in this one, although mid-high diff, more towards mid imo. While Laxus is strong, I still think Zeref can win this with the restrictions placed on him.

Zeref takes this high diff. Laxus is pretty strong but I don't think he's stronger than FDKM Natsu. If Zeref can overpower FDKM Natsu then he could definately beat Laxus.

Zeref mid/high difficulty. Even without immortality, Zeref managed to keep up with Natsu with Igneel's power. And Natsu with Igneel's power would destroy Laxus.
If Zeref wasn't restricted, then it would be low/mid difficulty. But the restrictions push it to mid/high.
Can't wait for people who think that Laxus wins cause "base" Natsu won against him..

Tough battle. But Zeref would win this. I dont think Laxus would be able to burn death magic like Natsu. Probably not, because now Natsu's fire can burn freaking everything.
