I DIDN'T LOSE VS SAI, I TIED!!!

BY SHERLOCK:
Your match vs Sai...
http://mangahelpers.com/forum/showth...96#post1801996

Read Kajimoto's effect.
Very carefully. You actually tied against him, you didn't lose. You tied.

What this means:

Sai:
One loss
One tie
One match to go
You:
Two ties
0 losses
One match to go
Me:
One tie
One loss
Two matches to go

Any of us 3 can be the champ.

If you beat me, you automatically the champion. If I beat Chaos and you, and Sai beats Ken, it will come down to who has the better game score between Sai and me.

So, all in all...Good luck, and hit me with all you got.
Following A Captain's Pride desciption literally, Kajimoto tied VS Atobe

No, he lost. Sherlock I already told you that you're the one who misunderstands the effect. For it to activate, you must have lost one or two matches already and the opponent's level must be somewhere between 22 and 24..

there is a very big difference between me misunderstanding an effect, and you writing a completely different thing than you had in mind.

That's true however I even had a neutral person confirm that my position, a native speaker of english, I hate to break it to you but I trust him in that respect a bit more than you.

There is not a single possible way to interpret that effect like that. But no use arguing with you about this again.

Damn. Well, I can still win if I beat both Jav and Chaos. Gonna need to focus.
I still don't know why you lost S3>.> You even guess Amane right but choose the wrong playstyle against him.

It's written in a confusing way (it should say "1-3 levels lower"), but context makes it obvious what the intention is.

The context being "it's too obviously broken to be true"

The context being "it's too obviously broken to be true"
Read: "I only support loopholes when I'm the one using them."

Also known as:

"I choose the opposite side of bro in every conceivable argument no matter what the argument is"

Sherlock, send your remaining line-ups, so we can finish this season.

Sherlock vs Jav

Mizuki's Prediction:
S3: Shiraishi
D2: Shiraishi/Gakuto
S2: Kajimoto
D1: Shiraishi/Gakuto
S1: Irie

S3

Hiyoshi (5, 5, 6, 6, 22) 20
Aggressive Baseliner

-Enbu Tennis [Feat]:
(1) Hiyoshi’s Power and Speed are boosted by 3 points each. (Singles only)
(2) Hiyoshi’s Power and Speed are boosted by 2 points each. (Doubles only)

-Gekokujou [Opening Feat]:
When playing against an opponent with an original total higher than Hiyoshi's, the opponent cannot lower Hiyoshi’s stats through Effects, and each of Hiyoshi’s stats is boosted by 1 point.

-Successor [Effect]:
Whenever Hiyoshi plays a 3rd year or a highschooler, his Speed and Spin are boosted by 2 points each. In doubles, this bonus is only applied once at maximum. This effect cannot be negated.

Kajimoto (6, 3, 4, 8, 21) 15
All-rounder

-A Captain’s Pride [Opening Feat]:
If Kajimoto is lower than 1-3 levels of his opponent and his team has lost 1-2 matches it’s an automatic tie.

-L-Doru Serve [Effect]:
Kajimoto’s Power is boosted by 4 points, his Control is boosted by 2 points.

First and foremost, Mizuki's prediction is wrong, so Kajimoto can play at 100%. That being said, Hiyoshi gets a nice boost and goes up to 28, after the two Effects resolved it's 32 to 27.

Winner: Hiyoshi, Sherlock

1-0 Sherlock

D2

Wakato (4, 4, 4, 7, 19) 16
All-rounder Serve and Volley

-Change Over! [Feat]:
Wakato has to choose one player before the match, his playstyle and dominant hand change accordingly. Depending on whether the copied playstyle has an advantage/disadvantage against the opponent's playstyle the following bonus is applied:
-Advantage -> +3 to all stats
-Neutral -> +0
-Disadvantage -> -1.5 to all stats
The order of advantages is:
-Serve&Volley advantage vs Defensive Baseliner
-Defensive Baseliner advantage vs Aggressive Baseliner
-Aggressive Baseliner advantage vs Serve&Volley
-All-rounder always counts as Neutral

In Doubles, the bonuses are added up for both opponents.

-Buggy Whip Shot [Effect]:
Wakato's Spin is boosted by 3 points.

Mizuki (3, 3, 4, 10, 20) 14
All-rounder

-Data Tennis [Feat]:
Mizuki’s Control is boosted by 1 point.

-Prediction Master [Opening Effect]:
Mizuki's player must predict his opponent's lineup. He must guess the character's exact positions.
(1) When guessing his own opponent correctly, Mizuki's Control is boosted by 4 points and his opponent's Effects are negated. (Singles only)
(2) When guessing another characters opponent correctly, that opponent's Effects are negated and your character's Control is boosted by 2.
(3) This effect cannot be copied.
(4) This Effect cannot be negated.

Kikumaru (4, 1, 10, 4, 19) 25
Serve and Volley

-Acrobatic Play [Feat]:
Kikumaru’s Speed is boosted by 2 points. Kikumaru’s Effects cannot be negated.

-Vision [Feat]:
The opponent’s Speed drops by 2 points.

Synchro [Aura]:
All of the user’s stats are boosted by 3 points and his stats cannot drop through Feats and Effects. This Aura is negated when being used by only one player of the pair.

Oishi (2, 4, 2, 4, 12) 20
Defensive Baseliner

-Doubles Master [Feat]:
Oishi's Control and Speed stats get boosted by 1 point each. (Doubles only)

Synchro [Aura]:
All of the user’s stats are boosted by 3 points and his stats cannot drop through Feats and Effects. This Aura is negated when being used by only one player of the pair.

-Australian Formation [Formation, L2]:
This Formation can only be used by a pair that has a support-level of 2 or higher. When playing a pair with a higher base total, all stats of both players in this pair are boosted by 2 points.

No need for calculations here, Mizuki and Wakato don't stand a chance against Golden Pair.

Winner: Oishi/Kikumaru, Jav

1-1

S2

Yagyuu (8, 5, 9, 9, 31) 40
Serve and Volley

-The Gentleman [Feat]:
Yagyuu gets boosted by 2 point in every stat, whereas the opponent’s highest stat drops by 2.

-Losing Reputation [Feat]:
When Laser Shot is negated, Yagyuu’s Spin is boosted by 5.

-Laser Beam [Effect]:
Yagyuu’s Power is boosted by 3.

Gakuto (1, 2, 6, 2, 11) 5
Serve and Volley

-Acrobatic Play [Feat]:
Gakuto’s Speed is boosted by 3 points. Gakuto’s Effects cannot be negated.

-Breathless [Feat]:
Gakuto loses in a tie.

Yagyuu vs Gakuto... sure...

Winner: Yagyuu, Sherlock

2-1 Sherlock

D1

Billy Cassedy (4,5,4,7, 20) 12
Serve and Volley

English[Feat]
When playing against a character who has English as his first language, Billy gets boosted by 5 points(Singles only)

Bull Rope Serve[Effect]:
Billy's Spin is increased by 3 and his stats cannot be decreased by effects when playing singles. (Singles only)

Shotgun Volley[Opening Effect]:
Billy Control is increased by 3 and the opponents effects are canceled when playing doubles. (Doubles only)

Kamio (4, 1, 9, 4, 18) 15
Defensive Baseliner

-Rhythm [Feat]:
Kamio’s Speed is boosted by 5 points. When playing Singles, Kamio loses in a tie.

-Sonic Bullet [Effect]:
Kamio’s Speed cannot drop.

-Moujuu Aura [Aura]:
Kamio's Speed is boosted by 6 points.

Kaneda (2, 2, 2, 3, 9) 5
Defensive Baseliner

-Tactician [Feat]:
When playing Doubles, Kaneda’s stats are boosted by 2 points each. Also, the team can use any standard Formation regardless of that Formation’s conditions.

-No Formation? [Formation, L2]:
This Formation can only be used by two characters that both have a total of 20 or higher. The highest stat of each character is boosted by 4 points.

Irie (12, 15, 13, 15, 55) 54
Defensive Baseliner

-Quick Analysis [Feat]:
Feats, Effects and Auras that would make Irie’s points drop are negated.

-Total Control [Opening Effect]:
Unless the opponent has a Control of at least 15 he cannot use any effects or aura’s that increase his power, speed or spin. This effect cannot be copied.

Irie stomps Kamio and Billy on his own...

Winner: Irie/(Kaneda), Jav

2-2

S1

Niou (8, 8, 8, 9, 33) 35
All-rounder

-Unpredictable [Feat]:
If the opponent would use a Feat or an Effect called ‘Data Tennis’, that Feat/Effect is negated. Also, Prediction's effect doesn't work against Niou.

-Illusion [Effect]:
When playing Singles, Niou has to predict his opponent as well as a copyable ability.
If the prediction is correct, the copied ability is applied at 100% and the opponent's stats drop by 2 points each. If the prediction was wrong, the copied ability is applied at 50% and all of Niou's stats drop by 1.5 points. This Effect cannot be copied nor can it be negated.

Predicting Shiraishi

-Samurai Drive [Effect]:
Echizen Spin is boosted by 15. This effect is negated if the opponent’s Power and Speed stats are both 20 or above. In that case, Echizen loses the match. This effect cannot be negated.

Shirashi (9, 9, 9, 9, 36) 36
All-rounder

-Bible Tennis [Feat]:
All of the opponent’s effects are negated.

-Entaku Shot [Effect]:
Shiraishi’s Spin is boosted by 5 points.

Ah, finally an interesting match-up. First of all Bible Tennis activates and negates effects or rather it would but Illusion as well as Samurai Drive can't be negated, bad luck I guess. So to wrap it up, Shiraishi is boosted by 5 points thanks to Entaku Shot but drops by 8 because Niou guessed his opponent correctly. Now Niou uses Samurai Drive at full power to finish Shiraishi off.

Winner: Niou, Sherlock

Results

3-2 Sherlock

Well then everyone, only two more matches to go... Ken send me your line-up!

Sherlock had a f**** 20% chances of guessing Shiraishi with Niou, and he did it!
I'm sure this time was just luck. He predicted with Mizuki that Irie would have been in S1...

Mizuki was a true failure (except Gakuto, and with Iri with him wasn't important), LOL

I mindraped Mizuki/Sherlock, but I still lose, damn it...

How does this work again XD im a bit confused in doubles. Say in a double match, Sherlock got one person right but not the other, will it be effect negated of the person guessed correctly and both of sherlocks players control boosted by 2 points?

That's right, let's say Mizuki predicted the opponents A and B, but the actual players are A and C. A's Effect(s) is/are negated whereas C's works normal.
The players X and Y on Mizuki's team now each get a +2 to their Control, if Mizuki himself would play, he'd get a +4.

It wasn't luck. I calculated every single possibility. Mizuki's predictions guaranteed that if some were wrong, I would win. I predicted Irie with Mizuki because quite frankly it wouldn't make any difference.

Most of Mizuki's predictions were to avoid things like Shiraishi in doubles, and Kajimoto's effect.

They were insurance.

I calculated that if Niou's prediction was wrong, I would still win.
I figured that if I were you, I'd go for Irie in doubles.

Your FIVE Mizuki's Predictions failed. With Shiraishi in S3, i would have won :Enbu Boy is Mr.Broken, but even with Mizuki prediting Shiraishi correctly, Mr.Ecstasy would have won (36 vs 32, Bible Tennis, a Feat, cancels Successor)you'd lose 3-1

You were lucky, you can not deny it...

Have I finished third in the league or could I even get a worse place depending of the last match?

Lemme check... oh, that's kinda unexpected... Kuwabara surpassed you as he has 3 byes and no matches, whereas you have 2 byes and one lost match, that being said, when Sherlock and Sai both lose (and I didn't miscalculate), Kuwabara could still finish in first place.
