As of now shoutos the weakest of the three both psychologicaly/mentally and physically. He doesn't have the heroes resolve and thats bad writing, hori doesn't want shoutonto progress on the same level as deku and bakugou as far as being certain heroic pillars. And he had a chance at the provisional to do this when he watched Endeavor fight.

Hori just hates shouto, its Gohan all over again.
We just got two chapters of character development for him. He will grow stronger from this experience now that he has an objective: stopping Touya.

Stain...the same guy that killed hundreds of innocent pros who weren't bad people but because didn't didn't align with his insane worldview....the same guy that didn't actually care about the downtrodden or innocent civilians because they were already far gone as far as he was concerned....that Stain who went as far out as trying to kill a teenager...yeah that guy should is the standard of morality.

The very fact that Hajima was put into the same light as All for One should clue you in that he wasn't a good person. We've seen what type of organization Destro led and the mentality of the people who followed his ideals led to this current carnage we're experiencing so what leads you to believe Hajima was anymore benevolent?

As of now shoutos the weakest of the three both psychologicaly/mentally and physically. He doesn't have the heroes resolve or thebfighting talented of the former yet despite going through 3 arcs where shouto should have gotten more assured of himself and his issues with his family and thats bad writing, hori doesn't want shoutonto progress on the same level as deku and bakugou as far as being certain heroic pillars. And he had a chance at the provisional to do this when he watched Endeavor fight.

Just because the author doesn't do what you want with a character doesn't necessarily make it bad writing.

Deku is the main character, he's locked in being the best of the three. Bakugo is Deku's main rival, he's locked in being next powerful. Shoto being a close 3rd doesn't make him any less of a character. That being said, it's fine if you don't like where Shoto's overall character arc is going or that he's hasn't gotten enough screen time as you'd like, but keep in mind Shoto is still developing as a character. He's trying to be his own hero while figuring out his feelings toward a father he loves but treated him and his family badly.

Now, he has to deal with the world knowing about his family's personal business and learning not only his dead brother is alive but is actively trying to destroy everything he stands for. That's a lot to process and a lot of future story potential. And, that's not even accounting for Shoto probably being the one to ultimately take down Dabi. His brother who he can sympathize with but never condone his horrible actions.

To me, Shoto was never meant to be the #1 hero but instead was meant to be a top hero (and a better person not consumed by hate and obsession like his father and brother) who rises to be among the best despise his family troubles.

I'll echo what @nectar wrote above because I think it's important that not only yourself but all readers in general understand; just because you're not getting what you want out of a story, be it with character development or story doesn't mean the writing is bad.

I also think it's very unfair to accuse the writer of hating one of his own characters, so I would stop short of those sort of inflamatory remarks if I were you. Your constructive criticism of the story is welcomed but there's a line between that and just toxicity when you continue to complain about the same things over and over again rather than enjoy the series as it's ongoing and the presence of who I presume to be your favourite character.

Enough saying something so ridiculous like that, they always say the same thing and Shoto gets nothing. Don't you get tired of always seeing how Midoriya and Bakugo are the only ones receiving attention? It is annoying.

All those things that you are mentioning only make Shoto unable to advance and grow as a character. There is always an excuse that makes Shoto unable to exploit his full potential and people like you seem to like that kind of thing, so that Bakugo and Midoriya are the only protagonists. He is ridiculous and boring.

After how much humiliation towards the character? That is not fun for anyone. Why is it so difficult to understand? We're not going to wait until the end of the series to get something that we should be appreciating now.

Well, no, as I said in my post, we just got two straigth chapters of "Todoroki attention" and the plot points that were introduced are clearly paving his future development. That's much more than most students in his class have ever gotten.

Has any other student, other than Midoriya and Bakugo, had more attention than him? And poor Bakugo doesn't even have a story arc as interesting as Todoroki's, nor as personal, so I really don't understand the complaints.

What should we be appreciating now and why?

Shoto kicking asses more than Deku or Bakugo? Why does the manga owes us that? Instead, for example, why shouldn't the manga give Mineta more attention and power? Why is Shoto the only focus of your complaints?

Shoto has gotten more attention than Bakugo lately and is only left behind in terms of current power, so what annoys you is only that Shoto isn't more powerful than them. Is there any reason why Shoto should be more powerful than them other than him being your favorite character? This is a serious question, because I have read people argue reasons why he's lagged behind in terms of power but your reply to that here is simply "those are excuses", so I would like to hear actual reasons why Shoto should be stronger than them.

Either way, you shouldn't worry about his powers. Touya just showed us that Shoto will have to get much stronger in order to beat him and that sets a power level objective for the future. Probably for the near future.

Don't forget, bcuz of what happened with the sports festival. I think in terms of power Deku and Bakugou were always playing catch up to Shoto. There is nothing to say that Shoto isn't still the strongest at this stage, barring Deku using 100 % of course.

All this Linkmyboy alts infesting this forum is hilarious.

To be fair, Shoto was introduced to be too Overpowered since USJ. People like Deku and Dynamite were a far cry of his power from the beginning.

Bakugo certainly has become stronger since the series started but I don't see any specific reason to think he has actually surpassed shoto or how bakugo might be stronger mentally or physically... Add to that, shoto probably can handle being throw a explosion much better than what bakugo can handle the very air he breaths being at whatever temperature shoto can heat it at instantly at a whim.

You only like the series when Shoto is stronger than Deku and especially Bakugou, but the day when these two get ahead Shoto you start to pour bile and that's how this endless cycle is.

And during these weeks you kept saying that Shoto couldn't lose against Touya and the only argument was because Shoto was a masterpiece and Touya a failure. When if you compare only the quirks without counting the user, Touya's quirk has more base firepower than Shoto's because that's where that quirk's grace is.

Character fans that go beyond the clear development of the plot are what is killing the anime/manga culture.
