So I will be getting to the translation of ch21 soon now that we have the raw, but in the meantime... Updates from Asada Hiroyuki's blog ^^ All images taken from there also.

Apparently it comes with Steak, who can sit on Niche's head (or stand on his own?)
If I'm reading it correctly, if you preorder using the JSQ form, you can get 2 extras - Steak in the frying pan, and a signed handtowel, or something like that. If you preorder from Mekke! you get a bookcover.
Wishing I had a spare 7500 yen sitting around right about now... in any case preorders start tomorrow, 3rd October, and run until 21st December, while the figure itself is scheduled for a May 2009 release. What do you guys think of it?

Also included in his latest update was info on the Tegami Bachi Drama CD, with preorders lasting until 5th Jan, and planned for release on 16th Feb, for 3150 yen. Picture under the spoiler tag.

Volume 5 cover, again from Asada's Hiroyuki's blog. Picked up my copy today, it's even more gorgeous in person, I promise ^^; Also comes with a foldout poster, both colour images from previous JSQs I believe.

Interestingly, there are also 2 extra pages added to the end of chapter 18! The mysterious Hat Man appears, saying how the time has come for their Reverse organisation to move, and calling on "his marauder, Noir" to go north. Nice full page image of Noir/Gauche, too.

I saw Asada's diary saying about the "Tegami Bachi Drama CD",
the seiyuu are the same with the OVA animations,
this is a great news!

With S.Q. II vol. 2 out, there are new tributes for Tegami Bachi. I do not know if they're omake (gag) or just illustrations but among one of the artists making a tribute is Takeshi Obata. I myself haven't had time to pick up my copy of S.Q. II vol. 2 but i'll update you guys with more info as I receive it...

As for my status in scanning (for any of my stakers reading this post), I am able to scan but my scanner's scanning quality went bad. I am aiming to buy a new scanner (and laptop pc, I am currently using iMac and I'm not used to scanning on a mac) by the end of this week. Expect me to at least scan and upload something by the first week of December.

With S.Q. II vol. 2 out, there are new tributes for Tegami Bachi. I do not know if they're omake (gag) or just illustrations but among one of the artists making a tribute is Takeshi Obata. I picked up my copy today, and can I just say it is a fabulous thing for Tegami Bachi fans :x Sorry I don't have a scanner, but you can see small pictures of the included posters (L-R: Asada, Obata, Tajima Shou [the MPD Psycho artist, I believe]) and read a little about Asada's thoughts on them here at his blog (Japanese). The Asada one in particular is stunning, seriously, but the two tributes are gorgeous too. As if that wasn't enough, there's an awesome full colour mini booklet with info and brand new images from the anime, as well as merchandise info.

And Asakura, thanks for the scanning efforts

I know this has nothing to do with Tegami Bachi but the image is a drawing from Asada Hiroyuki.
Can someone please tell me if this image from a guy with a sword is from another manga created by Asada Hiroyuki?

yeah. that's a pic by Hiroyuki Asada.it was drawn for an artbook featuring differet artists called Edge II. i'm pretty sure it was for that anyway XD

Yeah, that guy looks like the same guy I had in my other sig before the one I have now. Both are from Asada and are located in Edge II. He wrote about those illustrations in his blog as well

His art is one of the most beautiful art I've seen yet. I just wished that I'll were popular enough to get licensed...

Me neither, I don't usually buy American Jump, but I fully intend to buy that issue. Asada color artwork in actual print, I can't wait! but at 127 pages, Letter Bee's gonna get about a third of the issue. The interesting thing is that while American Jump usually has 2 or 3 chapters of a weekly series coming out once a month, which sort of throws of the pacing, Letter Bee will be published at one chapter a month, which is how it comes out in Japan too, so the pacing will actually be right. I hope it's popular here, it's nice to know that a manga I like is getting good treatment in America. (I.e., a decent release schedule.)
